In addition to our work in film and TV, Industrial Scripts is also increasingly active in the education sector, delivering high-quality speakers for schools, media careers talks and workshops in schools and universities, lecturing and speaking at events, and also acting as mentors to people looking to build a career in the business.

Our speakers for schools and universities are all experienced professionals with experience in diverse areas of the media, and we can work with you to tailor a careers talk or workshop to your specific requirements. Our careers workshops in schools include teamwork and communication exercises and are very PSHE-friendly.

“I wanted to drop you a small e-mail to say an enormous “thank you” for coming to Downe House last night and talking about your experiences both as a script writer and a script analyst. The girls thoroughly enjoyed listening to you – so much so that I had girls talking about it for a good hour after you left! Thank you for giving up your evening to travel to the depths of Berkshire, and I hope that you will be able to come at a later date to repeat your fantastic talk.” -Vicky Marks, Downe House School

On this, our most popular booking, students learn about the different career options open to them in the media, and then work in groups to prepare a film pitch presentation. The workshop is heavily interactive and emphasises teamwork, communication skills, presentation skills and delivers a significant amount of information on how to get ahead and build a career in the media, as well as proving very entertaining and stimulating for students.

4) Screenwriting for Beginners Course (for students & teachers) – £750 or £550

Our scriptwriting course for beginners has been designed for creative students & teachers who possess great ideas for films or TV shows, but don’t know where to begin. It delivers a huge amount of information, packed into either a half-day or full-day, to participants new to screenwriting. Focusing on both the writing process, and the industry writers find work in, the course aims to heavily de-mystify the process by which people become professional screenwriters, and help very new writers navigate the sometimes precarious early years of the screenwriter. Available in full day (£750 + travel) or half day (£550 + travel) options.
